Freetown, 14 March 2023. The West Africa Women’s Network has today joined the queue of tens of institutions that have recognized the invaluable contributions of the Executive Director of the Legal Aid Board, Ms Fatmata Claire Carlton-Hanciles for her strides in addressing access to justice issues for poor and vulnerable.
In a brief ceremony held at the Board’s head office at 27 Wilberforce Street in Freetown, the Network’s Event Manager, Sia Janga accompanied by two other members: Jestina Turay and Joel Dumbuya, recognized the Executive Director for her “meritorious legal assistance to the vulnerable.”
Receiving the award Ms Carlton-Hanciles expressed delight at and gratitude for the recognition, noting that “the award will continue to motivate me.” She said “when you work for the poor all you have are the awards and recognition” and she is pleased to receive them.
